Church History

Our St. Nicholas Church was established over one hundred years ago in 1917 by Serbian immigrants. Today, it is ethnically and culturally the most diverse Orthodox Parish in Omaha. It is comprised mostly of Americans, Serbs, Russians, Bulgarians and many people from south-eastern Europe. It is the only church in Omaha where you can hear the Gospel in four languages! We warmly welcome all people, as we are all God’s children who need to be brought to Christ. Church Services are predominantly in English and Church-Slavonic. The latter is used in some choral music and prayers and varies in amount according to the backgrounds and interests of those attending a particular service.
